Always wanted to learn to sew? Need to refresh your skills or learn new techniques? In this beginner level course, students will learn the basics of sewing including various stitches and seam finishes, inserting zips and stitching button holes.
Bring a pattern to class and learn how to sew your project. Develop an understanding of the sewing process from cutting out your pattern, to laying it out on fabric and of course putting it all together. Work at your own pace with friendly guidance from our experienced tutor.
The first session will cover the fundamentals of sewing and materials required for the course (e.g. fabric and patterns). If you have a specific project in mind please bring it along with you.
Sewing machines provided. Please bring fabric and pattern if you have one, scissors, thread, pins, etc if you can).
This class opens at 5 pm for anyone able to come early. However all welcome and those who are able to come later are welcome to join at any time before 6.15 pm. The class finishes at 8 pm.
Please note: This course will NOT cover pattern making.
Included in the course fee are two bobbins which will be given to you on the first night.
