Begin your te reo Māori journey with confidence and cultural understanding. Each week you'll build your skills step-by-step:

• Pronunciation, karakia (prayers), and whakataukī/whakatauāki (proverbs) to ground your learning in cultural context

• Essential language foundations: numbers, greetings, personal pronouns, and basic active sentences (e.g. “I haere au ki te marae” – I went to the marae)

• An introduction to the ‘a’ and ‘o’ categories and a practical overview of the mihimihi process, including pepeha or whakapapa sharing

This course offers a respected, warm introduction to both the language and te ao Māori—perfect for anyone wanting to build foundational knowledge in a culturally meaningful way.
