Join Robin in this hands-on class. Students may work on their own project at their own pace or our tutors will have a simple project you can chose to get you started.
Please note: Completion of this course requires the purchase of timber, nails, screws, paint or varnish and any other consumables for finishing your project, which are not included in the course fee. You may NOT use reclaimed timber as this may damage equipment. Tools will be available to use.
Participants will need to carry their materials and project a short distance from their car into the workshop and then back again to be stored at home between lessons.
Participants should wear comfortable clothes, closed toe shoes, with no loose clothing or jewellery.
The first lesson will include a safety introduction, along with tutorials for several of the tools. Robin will also discuss and advise on your project.
If you are confident about your project, you are encouraged to bring materials to the first lesson. You are also encouraged to bring along drawings, photos or other information for what you wish to build.
If you are unsure of materials to buy, Robin will advise in the first lesson.
Examples of projects undertaken in the past include coffee tables, bookcases, simple games, drum stands, beehives, plant stands, boxes, frames and stools/chairs.
