CLOISONNÉ ENAMEL

Embark on an artistic journey with Michelle Zhao's Cloisonné Enamel Workshop.

In this immersive experience, you'll have the opportunity to create intricate designs on a plate using the traditional 'Jing Tai Lan' technique, which flourished during the Ming Dynasty in China around 1450.

Michelle, an experienced crafter, will guide you through each step, making this complex art form accessible and enjoyable. You’ll learn the foundational techniques of cloisonné by carefully placing thin wires onto your designs to create partitions, or ‘cloisons,’ which are then filled with colored sand. By the end of the workshop, you’ll have a beautifully crafted art piece to take home and admire, reflecting both your creativity and the rich history behind this timeless craft. There is no melting(oven) process in this class.

The tutor will provide all the required materials for this workshop.
