Measure twice - cut once!
Join Brij or Robin in this hands-on and practical class. Students can work on their own project at their own pace or our tutors will have a simple project you can chose to get you started.
Please note: Completion of this course requires the purchase of timber, nails, glue, sandpaper and any other consumables for finishing your project, which is not included in the course fee. Recycled timber can NOT be used as this may damage equipment. Tools will be available to use.
Participants will need to be able to carry their project a short distance from their car into the workshop and then back again to be stored at home between lessons.
Participants should wear comfortable clothes, closed toe shoes and jewellery that will not get caught in any machinery.
In the first lesson new participants will complete a safety briefing and discuss their projects with the tutor. Take measurements and/or find pictures of items you would like to make if you wish to work on your own project.
You will NOT need to bring anything for the first lesson, except for an outline of the beginner’s project you would like to complete, if wanting to work on your own project. Examples of projects undertaken in the past include coffee tables, bookcases, simple games, drum stands, beehives, plant stands, boxes, frames and stools/chairs.
